The Performer Colin Moorman has performed professionally since 1985. His dynamic ability on saxophone has landed him sideman stints with Boby Curtola and Buddy Knox. He has been performing all over Western Canada displaying his diversity of style and ability. Starting as a jazz saxophonist with bands such as Cameo and the Robert Jay Trio, he has worked his way to being a pop rock musician, performing guitar, saxophone and singing with bands such as Three Wild Mice, Borderline Blue and McColl And Moorman. He also has recorded in several local studios and has credits with Robert Jay, New Life Ministry and the renowned Ray Grover. |

The Instructor Colin began teaching in September 1988 at the Jay-Ess Music School. He perfected his courses and refined his approaches in music education during his tenure at that facility. With the help of many of the top teachers in the Okanagan (Larry Crawford, Fred Gass, Robert Jay, Debbie Hughes Armstrong to name just a few), Colin learned the ins and outs of professional instruction. His use of pre-recorded music revolutionalized the saxophone and guitar programs he built at the school. He chose to leave the school in July of 2000 to start his own facility. He continues to modernize his programs using the newest innovations of learning and continues to work with the top ins. His former students have included Pat McGibbon, Gabe and Ezra Cipes, Jeff Jennens, Jon Ungaro and many other top young talent now emerging in the Okanagan music scene. |
